November 2012 – August 2013
Director of Digital Content Strategy
KCRW, Santa Monica, CA
Proven track results landed me a level up at KCRW, guiding the official direction of the digital content strategy in a serious time for change. I supported the launch of a newsroom and kept up with the many changes of the station as we took the deep dive into democratizing digital access to the entire staff. Hiring, training, communicating and acting on a small committee alongside the station manager were all an exhilarating part of this position. In my time there, we launched several exciting new mobile apps, explored a rebrand, and started the immense task of redesigning KCRW.com.

Music Related Web Content Updates and Social Media Marketing were my primary responsibilities in this role. During this time I grew KCRW’s digital reach on a range of digital platforms, tackling each new platform as it was introduced, from Facebook and Twitter, to Instagram, Spotify & YouTube. My effort included spearheading and supporting the design and launch of 11 KCRW niche blogs across WordPress & Tumblr. Our social community grew to more than 400,000 friends and followers in my time. Additionally I was proud to see through several exciting platform launch partnerships, working directly with staff at Spotify, Rdio, YouTube and more.

Betsy is a deeply artistic person balanced with the logical mind of an engineer which she has put to great use in the many roles she’s performed. In terms of CRM administration, she always seems to “get it.” Betsy has the rare ability to translate manual workflows with a variety of moving parts and into automated processes and usable, timely and actionable information. She’s committed and passionate — yet still manages to be forever grounded and easy-going in whatever she does. More so, she’s risen up to every single challenge laid in front of her and continues to prove daily how much of a tremendous asset she is.

The Design People, Inc.
Betsy was responsible for all things social for KCRW and led the charge from a few thousand to hundreds of thousands of fans/followers. In between she launched the blogs, helped with design and other new media functions. She truly enhanced the overall culture of the organization. Betsy intuitively gets people and culture and understand how to relate on a human level.
